The mission of The Casual Society of Literary Women is to cultivate a safe space for women to explore, discuss, and create literature. We strive to empower our members by encouraging open dialogue, fostering creativity, and celebrating the diverse voices
of women in literature. We aim to inspire personal
growth and provide support and
companionship on our shared literary journey.

We envision a community where women feel free to express themselves through literature by fostering a sense of belonging among our members. Our goal is to create a lasting impact on the literary landscape where every voice is heard and valued. Together, we uplift and promote women writers, encourage collaboration, and uncover previously silenced voices. We work to inspire future generations of literary women to share their stories and contribute to the rich tapestry of women’s literature.
Meet our Team
Emily Piller (she/her)
Emily passionately advocates for women’s voices in literature, fostering a creative community where women can explore the literary world. Recognizing an opportunity for personal growth and change, Emily made a major midlife pivot from a fifteen-year career in nursing to a rekindled dedication to literature. She hopes to grow The Casual Society of Literary Women into a large and vibrant literary community that celebrates diverse voices and fosters creativity.
Because Emily believes that literature is not just an escape but a powerful tool for connection and change, she seeks to create a welcoming space for women of all backgrounds to connect through their shared love of books and writing. Her vision is to empower women to express themselves freely, engage in meaningful discussions, and support one another in their literary endeavors.
Like many of you, Emily enjoys curling up with a good book, exploring local bookstores, and writing her own stories. The Society of Literary Women is committed to inspiring and supporting women writers and readers, encouraging them to share their narratives and contribute to the rich tapestry of women’s literature.
